Market Musings – Do we have seasonal skews anymore?

This past spring market perplexed me beyond belief. It never really seemed to get off the ground. There were buyers out there looking, but they were kind of rejecting the inventory. On the other hand, tons of new listings weren’t exactly surging onto the market either.

After a spring like that, I thought our real estate market was going to resemble the Sahara Desert after Memorial Day. Not so. Not so at all. I’ve noticed some really nice, well-priced listings come on the market in the last month and some have already accepted offers too. I myself have gotten a few calls about listing houses just in the past couple of weeks.

Makes me wonder…when the real estate bubble “burst”, did the traditional seasonal ebb and flow of the real estate marketplace change a bit too? I guess we’ll know the answer after we see the summer sales results.
